      In the name of God amen I Jonathan Cumberlege of the parish of Walsall in the County of Staff’d Founder being of sound & disposeing mind praised be Almighty God therefore doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following First I recommend mu Soul unto the hands of Almighty God & my body to the Earth and for my worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth. That is to Say I give devise & bequeath unto my loveing wife Sarah Cumberlege the use weare and enjoyment of all my Goods ch’ells [chattels] and p’sonall Estate whatsoever and wheresoever dureing Soe long time as she shall continue my widow & noe longer. And from & after the death or marriage of my said wife (which shall first happen) I give and bequeath all of the goods ch’ells & p’sonall Estate devised as aforesd to my said wife only dureing her widowhood unto my Sons Richard Cumberlege John Cumberlege Thomas Cumberlege & Joseph Cumberlege & to my daughters Elizabeth Richardson & Anne Carrall to be equally divided amongst them share alike. And my will further is that my said wife doe within three moneths next after my decease deliver and Exact perfect & true schedule or particular in writeing under her hand to my Ex’ors hereinafter named of all the goods ch’ells & p’sonall Estate which by virtue of this my will she is as aforesd to have the use of dureing her widowhood. And that she doe in such time alsoe enter into an obligacon [obligation] to my Ex’ors in the penalty of one third part more then the value of the said goods ch’ells & p’sonall Estate shall then amount unto Conditioned for the leaveing of such goods ch’ells & p’sonall Estate to my said Sons & daughters att the time of the marriage or death of my said wife (which of the shall first happen) in as good condition as they respectively then are (inteh__tary accidents necessary use & weareing only Excepted) And that if she faile in giving of such particular & bond, my bequest to her of or for her using or having such Goods ch’ells & p’sonall Estate in such manner as is aforesaid shall be absolutely void and then & in such case I will that my said Sons & daughters shall enter upon the same & that the same shall be equally divided amongst them share & share alike. Item I will that all my debts & funerall Expences be first paid of & discharged And I make Matthew Stubbs of Walsall aforesaid Gent & Henry Slater of the same Founder Ex’ors of this my last will & Testem[ent] In Witness whereof I the said Jonathan Cumberlege have herunto sett my hand & seale this Eleaventh day of February Anno Dni 1724 [11 Feb 1724/25]

      Know all Men by these presents that wee Matthew Stubbs of Walsall in the County of Staff’d &Diocese of Coventry & Lichfield Gent and Henry Slater of the Same Founder Executors named in the Last Will and Testament of Jonathan Cumberledge late of the parish if Walsall aforesd Founder died [did] for divers goos Causes & Consideracons we hereunto moveing Have renounced & Quitt claimed & by these presents doe renounce & Quitt claim All our Right Title Interest Claim & demand of ^in^ & to the Execucon of the Last Will & Testam[ent] of the said Jonathan Cumberledge & doe Consent as far as in our[?] Syes that Administration of the said deced[ant]s Goods with his said Will annexed be Committed & Granted to Sarah Cumberledge Widow & Relict of the said deced[ant] And to the End this our Renunciacon & Consent may the better take effect Wee doe Nominate authorize & Impower Edward Short Gent one of the Procurators Gen’l of the Lord Bishopps Consistory att Lichfield our true & Lawfull Proctor for us & in our Names to appear before the Worshipfull Henry Raynes Dr of Lawes & Chancellor of the Diocese of Coventry Suo Surogate or any other Competent Judge in this Behalfe to pray & procure the Same to be admitted & Executed & whatsoever our said Proctor Shall herein Lawfully doe or Cause to be done in the previouse?
